H1n1
Dear PM0904J
Temperature Taking
With effect from Mon 3 Aug 09, temperature taking by students will be carried out only on the first and last working day of the week, that is, on Monday and Friday only.
Students are required to take their temperature at the beginning of class.
Colour stickers will be issued to those below the trigger temperature of 37.6C. The stickers should be prominently displayed on the top right-hand side of the student identification card/body at all times.
Prevention of H1N1 Cluster
Although precautionary measures have been stepped down, all establishments are to monitor the number of staff and students on medical leave (MC) due to Influenza-Like Illnesses (ILI). Should there be a high number of staff or students on ILI MCs who have been congregating together in a class or group, the particular class or group should be closed for a week. The recommended trigger for class closure or work segregation is 5 cases of ILI MCs or 3 confirmed H1N1cases within a 5-day period.
Personal Hygiene and Social Responsibility
Students should maintain high standards of personal hygiene at all times. This includes washing your hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water, especially before touching your eyes, nose or mouth, turning away quickly from anyone near, if you are about to cough or sneeze, and covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Students are also reminded to be socially responsible. Those who are unwell with flu symptoms should put on a mask and see a doctor as soon as possible, and return to the school only after you get well. While recovering, you should stay at home and avoid crowded places.
Best !!
